Orise is a sweet sake and koji seasoning made by Kojiya Sanzaemon, a company founded 600 years ago, to enrich your daily life.

Koji mold is essential for making rice koji, a common ingredient in all orise products.
Koji mold is at the core of our food culture, and there are koji molds with various characteristics, such as those that bring out sweetness, those that produce umami, and those that have a pleasant aroma.
At Orise, we create rice koji by selecting the most suitable koji mold from the thousands of species of koji mold that Kojiya Sanzaemon possesses, in order to achieve an enveloping fragrance, a luxurious sweetness that satisfies the soul, and a gentle aftertaste that fades away quickly.
The rice used is reduced-pesticide rice from Horato, Gifu Prefecture.
Kojiya Sanzaemon was founded in the Muromachi period. The brewery has been known by the name "Kuroban" (black seal) since it has used business licenses and other documents issued by the Ashikaga Shogun printed in burdock ink on its packaging for generations.
In order to pay tribute to and continue the history of koji-making and the black-printed shop name that has been passed down through the generations, we have adopted the design of the sales bags that Kojiya Sanzaemon used more than 50 years ago and sublimated it into the Orise emblem, which is based on the colors of rice koji and sumi ink.
